Appointment will normally be made on a contract basis for up to three years initially, which, subject to mutual agreement, may lead to a longer-term appointment or substantiation. Outstanding candidates with substantial experience for Professor rank may be specially considered for appointment on substantive basis forthwith. The remuneration package will be highly competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. The University offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package, including medical care and housing benefits for eligible appointees.
The Department of Sociology is now inviting applications for a tenure-track faculty post at Professor/ Associate Professor/ Assistant Professor rank.
The appointee will be responsible for (a) teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels; (b) supervising research students; (c) undertaking scholarly research; (d) applying for competitive research grants; and (e) assisting in administrative work.
